Lake Iseo...breathtaking and fun !What you need to know: Fact Sheet Lake Iseo is the nearest great lake to Milan Bergamo airport It is the 7th largest Italian lake over 16km's long and 5 Kms wide in some places It was formed by a glacier and is over 250mts deep. Lake Iseo has the largest inland Island in Europe; Monte Isola. Lake Iseo has 3 of the top 20 prettiest villages. Iseo, Lovere and Peschiere on Monte Isola It is on the dividing line between the regions of Bergamo and Brescia. Lake Iseo is fed by a high glacier and the river Oglio. Lake Iseo remains relateively unspoilt by tourism and prices are less than that of big brother Lake Garda. The climate is more Alpine than Mediterranean with olive grove instead of palm trees. The Hollywood stars missed this lake and much to the better as the area around the lake is nearly all public. The ability to actually see the other side is also an added bonus. The Historical trade is fishing and the making of nets. The famous Riva speedboat factory is also based here.
